    Painting/restoring CNC machine

    Hi,

I am in the process to refurbish an old CNC machine, the mechanical and electronical parts are all okay now, I also re-implemented the tool changer (the accuracy as far as I have checked is around 0.01mm); so now I am heading to the optic part.

Now the question is which paint / coating should be used inside a machine? I am aware that the enclosure has to be removed completely for this process of course.

There is a company nearby doing powder coating, is that used with machines nowadays?

Also what kind of material / glass should be used for the window? It does not seem to be simple acrylic (and I would be concerned about hot chips hitting it).

    thanks.
