PathPilot Installed, after splash screen it goes Blank

    Hi,

Just installed the PathPilot DVD for my 770. All seemed well until the first reboot. I see the Tormach Splash Screen, I can see for a split second the Ubuntu background and mouse cursor. Then my screen goes BLANK and it says no signal. I already checked the bios date and it is current. Is there a minimum resolution required for the screens? I'm using an old 19" lcd that can display 1280x1024 using the video (not DVI) port on my Tormach Controller. So now I am currently dead in the water, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

    I have 2 questions:
Are you using a Tormach sold controller or your own PC as a controller?
Does you monitor support 1024x768? PathPilot forces screen resolution to fit the user interface:

    Code:
      # force screen resolution to match UI, sometimes the display comes up as 1280x1024
      xrandr -s 1024x768
    Step

I'm using a Tormach sold controller and the Monitor is a Viewsonic VX910, tech specs show all the usual resolutions:
    1280x1024 @ 60 & 75Hz, 1024x768 @ 60,70,72,75Hz etc..

Well the controller should be ok and from the numbers the monitor should also be fine. Presumably you've turned the monitor off and on again after the image disappears and pressed "auto" or what ever the monitor calls it.
If you see the Ubuntu backgroud and a cursor briefly then the 1280x1024 resolution is working ok but it appears to me that something isn't switching resolutions properly. Can you try with another monitor? I can probably get you up and running in 1280x1024 but you'll need to be able to start up in 1024x768 first. You don't need to have the machine connected - you could take the controller into the office or to the neighbours or anywhere where you can try another monitor. If you can get the user interface started then it's probably a monitor issue and I can probably help you with a workaround.
If you can't get to the user interface then it may be an issue with the controller and then you may need to contact Tormach.

Ok guys, my bad, turns out my old monitor was defective. I went out and bought a new monitor just to confirm and Voila! I can see the machine setup screen on PathPilot!
