    * Please help - What do you use for 220V 3Phase imported DRIVE + MOTOR?

    Hi guys,
I have imported AC Servo drives and motor (1KW each) for 3 axises mill.
The power supply required to connect to the drive is
220 V 3 Phase (In oversea, they have transformer that convert from 380V to 220V 3 Phase).
In US though, I was told that you SHOULD NOT connect industrial 3 ph-220V supply directly in as it may created noises and perhaps other unknown problems (Don't know if it true).

So I was told that my solution is either to
1). Get 3Phase transformer 220V in, 220 V out (3Ph) , which by the way is not common to find!!
2). Get Filter? Reactor of some sort that would isolated it? (Any idea on this?)

So for experience users out there, any help would be greatly appreciate it.Thank you in advance.

The only thing I would check to see if it is 50hz, although in all probability it will have the tolerance to run on 60hz, Most AC drives or VFD's operate into a bridge rectifier anyway.
Are you operating in a 3 phase shop? If so you probabally alread have a 220v transformer on the premises giving you the 220v, If you have any concerns, you can obtain 3 phase drive reactors from Hammond Transformers etc.

    Al,
    Thanks again for the help.
So your advice is that if it accept 220V 50-60Hz rating, then it shouldn't matter if you plug right into industrail 3Ph-220V?

Also, I am not quite familiar with the use of REACTOR, can you be little bit more precise if you are refering to FILTER REACTOR at Hammond Transformers?

    Thank you

I see that Hammond no longer advertise 3 phase reactor chokes like they once did.
These are an option, the advantage to these is they also have surge suppression in the way of MOV's as well as the Inductive Reactor.
People like Mitsubishi & Fanuc use them.

You would only need one sized for all three drives.
Like I said, in all probability you have a 220v 3ph local transformers already.
