    Posted on Bobcad Forum - Help with Upgrade v23

    Hey Guys;
    I tried to updata 23 to the latest and get the following message in its own box with a large red "X" during the run command.
    >SetupNew\setup.cpp (135)
    PAPP:
    PVENDOR:
    PGUID:
    $
    @Windows XP Service Pack 3 (2600) IE 8.0.6001.18702
    When I google it, I get some crappy gamming site with no helpful information.
    During the install I ran the link noted before download and have updated all my files with the latest. I'm running a Dell Inspiron laptop with windows XP professional 1664Mhz and 2 gb ram. I've tried to run from the site and tried to run from a downloaded version. Damn, this is scary when a windows message pops up like this.
    My old un-updated version (is that a word) is still working but I can't understand why I can't update.

    Any help will be appreciated.
    Bill

    Hey Bill,
    I think it is an issue that will be best servered if you can go to windows update and get all the critical updates for your computer. This is a good thing anyway. You may have to go there, then restart and go back, and do this several times before you go there and it says there are no more available.

    Just do the "critical ones". Some of the others can require more care.

    However, the .net frameworks are located under "Software" just under the critical ones. THese should be installed also. THen there will be more criticals that go on for those. It could be a 4 hour process if your computer has been out of date for awhile.

    I have seen it before, but didnt remember the exact thing it was. I tried searching around a bit in the forum to find it.

    The error your getting is not what you googled, it's just an error from the windows installer (the engine that runs those software setup packages).

    Be sure you have .net framwork, up to version 2, installed and updated on your computer. This should get it going.

    If not, post back (preferably in the other forum) as there are just a couple other things to try.
