    Posting w/o Save

    v23 Build 1812

When I am working on a program and right click [Milling Tools] then left click [Post], nothing happens.

When I right click [Milling Tools] then left click [Post & Save As], I can select a file name and press enter. The porgram then appears in the "Posting" window as it should.

Any ideas out there or is it just a bug I have to deal with?

This usually happens after viewing other peoples files.Right click milling tools, left click current settings, under machine re-define your machine. Also make sure your post is right.Bob doesnt always return your settings back after viewing others files.

The problem is that the NC File path is not correct.

For one part you can do this:
    1. Right click on Milling Tools and choose the Current Settings option.
    2. On the Machien tab you will see a field that allows you to set the NC File Path. Click on the Select button and choose a directory on your computer.
    3. Then post. It should work.

    To Correct This Permanently:
    1. Close BobCAD.
    2. Click the Start button.
    3. Then All Programs.
    4. Then Find the BoBCAD-CAM V23 folder in the menu and click on the Milling Machine Editor.
    5. In the Milling Machine Editor, click on the Settings tab.
    6. Change the NC File Path to a folder on your computer.
    7. Click on Save.
    8. Close the Editor(If you get an error when you close the Editor, just click on "This program installed properly") and Open BobCAD again.

That is the general fix for this issue.

Permanently is a long time.If it happens again,do as suggested from the above posts, and back in business again. This does happen from time to time......

Thanks for the replies. They helped but I haven't started a new project yet to confirm the settings. It seems every time I open an existing file, I have to go in and reset the editor settings.

The per part fixs it but I can not get the settings to take effect for new parts. Every time I use it, I have to go through the current settings and correct them...ugh!

When you run the Milling Machine Editor (the "permanant" fix), try right clicking the .exe and choose "Run as Administrator"

The program may be trying to write the new settings but may not have the proper permissions to actually save the new settings. This is just a guess but would only take a minute to try. Sorry, that's all I got
