Some discussion on another thread made me wonder: is there a way to incorporate a foot-operated activation switch into this power draw bar? The big advantage being that you can have both hands free - one to hold the old tool and one to hold the new tool.

It's entirely possible, but also completely unnecessary. I do two-handed changes all the time. It takes about a second for the tool to be released after the button is pressed. So, simply press the button, then move your hand down to catch the tool when it's released. From a safety stand-point, I think a foot pedal is a terrible idea, and would not support it. Even with the several layers of interlocks built into the PDB, why tempt fate?

I have relatively small hands and can manage a to hold both tools in the same hand while pressing the release with the other. And that's with larger CAT40 holders that come out with rather high force (fadal impacts the drawbar to pop the taper loose) so I would think the TTS would be able anyways..

Or, if you had a foot-operated switch, you could hold each tool in each hand. To each his own I guess.

An elephant would use his trunk to hold the tools! Now THAT would be impressive!
