Problem with the 2.2 kW Plug and Play Spindle

    Hello

I have a problem with the 2.2 kW Plug and Play Spindle / VFD System from CNCRouterParts, Spindle is connected to
Plug and play Nema 34 system from CNCRouterParts

I can turn the Spindle ON and OFF through Mach3,but have only one speed.

If i write 10000 in the spindel speed, spindel turn on, but RPM show 0 and S-ov show 0

    What could be wrong?

I have use the Set Up Guide for 2.2 kW Plug and Play Spindle.

Try typing S10000 in the MDI.

The rpm will show zero. There's no tachometer/index feed back into mach3

The 'spindle speed' is the one that will say how fast it's going.

I had the wrong Spindle Pulleys number, have fixed it now,the spindle is working correct.

The 'spindle speed' is the one that will say how fast it's going. ok thank you

I have discovered a new problem with the spindle, when all axis is home position and i turn the spindle ON,i get limit switch triggered and spindle turn off.sometimes it does not happen, but happen if i turn off spindle.
If i move X axis 1mm and turn spindle on,I get no limit switch triggered.

Then you have a noise problem, either bad Grounding or Shielding or both not correctly terminated

Re: Problem with the 2.2 kW Plug and Play Spindle

    I use system from cncrouterparts.

    - 4-Axis Digital Plug and Play NEMA 34 System
    - 2.2 kW Plug and Play Spindle / VFD System
    - Pepperl + Fuchs Proximity Limit Switch Kit
    - cnc router is a custom made from Stepmores. (900x600x100) (Dual Y axis ballscrew)

All cables have pre-assembled connectors,so i can not do anything with these cables

Can not be a noise problem,if i move X axis 1mm from home position everything is okay.

If there had been noise problems,so has it been outside home position also ?

Tomorrow i will home all axis and then remove cable from Proximity Limit Switch on x- or x+ and turn on/off spindle and see what happen.

I received responses from cncrouterparts today about this problem.

I would update the debounce settings for your limit switches and emergency stops. There is a surge when you turn the spindle on, which may be causing a spike of electrical noise.

You can change the debounce setting for your Estop and limits. You can do this under Plugin Control>General config -- change them from 0 to 2000.

I have attached a screen shot, you can see the limits and Estop in the upper right hand side.

Please make sure to go to Config>Save settings and restart Mach3 in order to make this change permanent.

    I will try that tomorrow.

This is a normal bandage fix, where it helps to get you going, but does not fix the problem, you need to find where the noise problem is ( VFD ) and fix it, it will either be a Ground or a Shield that needs attention

    ok.

I will check the ground in the nema enclosure for VFD Controller, same with the nema 34 enclosure.

Maybe i shall ground those two nema enclosure together?

Check Pin 4 in the spindle that it has continuity to the spindle body, this is where there are problems with most of these spindle, they need to be modified to Ground Pin 4

Yes all the enclosures need to be Grounded all to one star point, be careful that you don't create a Ground loop
