I have an actual RF45 which I converted x,y, & Z to CNC using stepper motors and it has been running well. I have also purchased 2 ball screws to remove the rest of the backlash on the mill although my MACH3 software manages it pretty well. I have been pleased with the setup. Now my work has purchased me the Industrial Hobbies CNC conversion kit so I am going to replace my current setup and replace it with the IH kit. I was wondering if someone would have interested in the existing CNC modifications and screws as a whole kit. I would provide the parts I made, steppers, controller, and photos of the current and proposed modifications but the installation of the screws would take a little work. The 2 screws alone with antibacklash nuts cost me $1300.00. It will take someone able to make a few minor modifications to the mill. I can also provide the MACH3 configuration file I created. The setup without the screws has been able to hold +-.001 but that will depend on your machine. The screws should make that even tighter. I can provide pictures if anyone is interested. Contact me at [email protected]. I wanted to gauge interest before I sold the parts separately. It should work on most RF-45 clones.
