Hey, yo. I have a few generalized questions I was wondering if someone would mind taking a crack at them.

1. To get within a 1 millimeter tolerance of accuracy in terms of stepper or servo motor movement on a mill/lathe/etc, would the minimum step/servo movement necessarily have to be on a mm by mm basis? Or could the minimum step/movement size be overcome by the way of gears or other means? Which would be the best implementation?

2. Considering the relatively low cost of stepper motors, servos & controllers. Does the high price of CNC machines imply the software and cad aspect represents the highest proportional value of overall price? Maybe labor or research and development? How would one breakdown price basis in terms of hardware versus software? What would represent the largest contributor in terms of price?

3. CAD and CNC software. I need some. Would anyone care to make a recommendation?

4. Anything I miss?
