    Hi all

    this update\status of my job

i feel that i put 600$ in the garbage
part have >0.1" difference in length
dimension not respected need height of 0.476" shipped part have 0.416"
hole for tread rod need ~0.095" shipped part have 0.250"
whit .250 hole a 0.260 spacer was totally use less
spacer was a joke not deburred at all and out of tolerence

so i chose send that job to a professional machinist and i end up whit
a worst job that i may make myself on my tail mill/lathe

i will not tell name of that guy only that i not have yet posted on that topic
i got it Qoute in pm ...

Marc, go ahead and post the name of the person who did that! People like that need to be called out in public. That is unforgivable and disgusting. Kinda makes me wish it wasn't illegal to smack someone around just because they deserve it. That person should at LEAST be banned from using the commerce area of this website.

I'm too busy to take this job on right now, but I'm sure someone else will have the time. Please don't let one idiot ruin your view on machine shops.

Are those part-off tits on the spacers??? Pathetic.

EDIT: This is why having 2D prints is so important. A lot of people think they are a waist of time / money, but if you had a print, you could reject the parts for not meeting the print and demand your money back. I doubt a person of that caliber would actually refund your money, but it's worth a try anyway.

I see this as an example of what you get when you pick the cheapest quote. Usually there is a reason they are cutting everyones throat with cheap bids. Good parts aint cheap and cheap parts aint good.

    Not good

Sorry to see that Marc, did you pay the guy already? Maybe next time if you're doing business with someone out of town ask them to send you a quick picture of the parts before you send the money?

Marc, you have to out this piece of garbage that basically stole your money. He is giving the good shops a bad name. Sorry you learned a hard lesson. NEVER give anyone more than a deposit for tooling and materials upfront. Unfortunately with this bad economy many people who have marginal experience in machining are doing outside work because they have had their hours cut in their day job. A lot of them frequent forms like these looking for work. They kind of tip their hand by bidding jobs with out asking the questions an experienced person would ask. Those parts are so terrible I almost think you are making some kind of bad joke.

    HI All

ok after a good night and reflection ,i was more political correct

1-) most of the rail was not so bad except for the .250 hole that was supposed to be 0.100 and. i may fix that issue by drill a new hole at new position and re-cut end whit closer tolerance ,as for thick measures error this may due to communication error ? ,so here it may acceptable and error was human after all. price of rail = 500$

2-) spacer was a real shame no excuse here for ship that
i put a picture of the whole lot ,so image will talk by itself
    spacer price = 90$

so after that statement i may put name on this ,since i not think that i make any libel statement on above description toward "universalfab"

at the end i still feel that for that price i may have better quality part
and next time i will not just ask for picture of first part if possible
it will mandatory step and leave far less design improvement room to machinist

This should get interesting. I may pick a few what I believe to justified squabbles around here, but I believe Universalfab fights with almost everyone, and seems to get angry when a customer won't order from him when he gives a good price. Those spacers are pathetic, can't wait to see him defend himself. That looks like at least 100 spacers. $90 is too cheap for someone to do a good job unless they are working for low wages, but if you accept that rock bottom price it is on you and you still should do good work.
