Define "power user"? I'm not current with version #6, but I regularly used Rhino/Rhino Cam for 5 axis work before I retired in 2016. A bit rusty now (and moving to Fusion).

Hello Al - Rhino users tend to be specialised in groups according to what they do. Marine, shoes, architecture, automotive etc. For instance I use Rhino for free form stuff and FEA pre processing. You need to ask clear questions and I'm sure you will get a clear answer. I use RH4 but I'm about to go to RH7 I'm very interested in Grasshopper...Peter

    Hi Al,

If you're still looking for information I might be able to help. I've been using Rhino for 20 years. I know a couple things about it. :-)

How have you been enjoying the new Dsub? I used the T spline plug in and loved it. It looks much the same. I haven't had much time to really get in to V7 but am really liking the new capabilities. THIS, Rhino3D, is how you update software packages (Hello Solidworks!!!) Not useless icon changes and other bells and whistles that no one asked for.

I've played around with SubD, but it's not something we need at work, so I don't have a lot to say about it. But it is fun to play with.

SubD is cool, Rhino 7 added a command called quadremesh. Super handy when dealing with STL's. Been working with rhino for five years now. Love it. Although I don't use any Rhino CAM extensions. I use madcam for 2d and 3d reliefs, then move over to fusion for 5 axis work. Let me know if you need any tips on workflow.

The creator of Tsplines went to Autodesk. I too loved Tsplines.
I just upgraded and have been giving the new SubD environment in Rhino the workout. I plan to design my next guitar model using the tools. So far, I am impressed.

I am a power user, but I haven't used Rhino yet. I'll shortly give it a try.
