    Rigidity issue?

    Well, the boss saw the little Griz...

    And he walked up, put one mighty paw on one end the table, and the other one on the top of the column, and commenced to wiggle a dial indicator about 10-15 thou...

    "It sucks."

    Was also showing some spindle runout until I torqued down the piece that the drawbar bolt goes through a bit... Uh, what is that thing called, and just how much can I tighten it down?

    Now, he's the kinda guy who won't use a 3/4" end mill if a 1.25" one will fit... And if a face mill is called for, just hide behind something... Fire it up, and make some big ol' chips...

    Right now, until I get more comfy with the concept, I'm just going to be doing the Phase I...

    ah, if only they sold a Haas for 1k that could fit down the basement stairs, how impressed
    the real machinists would be.
    till then we make do.

    "I can move it with a hand truck" did not impress... I'm thinking I'm going to do the concrete mount trick...
