You should be able to use a 5v power supply with isolated outputs. Most industrial power supplies have isolated outputs. Hook the negative voltage output voltage of the power supply up to the encoder ground on the Gecko.

If you're lucky Marriss will answer later.

To be honest, I find it difficult to get support with Gecko G320 with my controller, may be due to the geographical position of my country and there is no one using Gecko products.
When we first bought the Gecko G320, and being recommended Electrocraft motor with Renco RM21, and did not understand that this encoder is drawing more than 50mA. In fact this is the first prototype CNC router that we want to supply to education department. We are machine and equipment supplier.
I am thinking of changing to other brand of DC servomotor, and contemplating of selling 3 pcs of G320 and the 3 pcs of Renco21 as well.
We are afraid to sell euipments to government department, if there is no support from the manufacturer.
