    serial numbers

    Hi i have a part that needs to have serial numbers ingraved on them.I have a fanuc 21i control.How do i go about programing that?I would like it to be a sub program so i could use it on many part numbers.Mabie call it up with a g code and enter a x y z start point a z depth and height of number?

    post your pix on here we can mipulate the program, since we don't know what it look like. It's seem this same subject post on here once every month.
    The best way to learn is trial error.

    Engraving

    Doesn't 21i have Engraving Cycle (G1025 I think)?

    I think it was Al_the_Man that posted a link to CNC Concepts the other day, and they have a set of macro's available for free download.

    Go to:http://www.cncci.com/resources/tips/engrave.htm

    You could use these as a basis to build the few needed to complete the set with numbers.
