    I dont see it !

    click on download, then 3D.
There are 30 images, none of them have links to sponsor page.

Maybe PM me a direct link ? IS there one on your site ? or has it gone by mistake ?

The thing that got me looking for the link, was, I clicked on projects, and was interested in the probe, but I couldn't see a way to get the info (I know now to click the image - but it doesn't say to) So I figured it was 'sponsor only'

EDIT :> AHH !!! found one :-) lol

    Hi Rich...

sorry you seem to be having problems navigating the site...

I've just checked the project pages and you are right... that page is missing the 'click the image' comment in the text... it is there for all the others.. just missing on that one.. will sort it out...

    Thanks for the info..

    TTFN

EDIT: I've fixed that page now.. again thanks for the info..

I've also added the sentence below to the paragraph related to sponsorship on the main page. Hopefully this should help avoid problems reported... at least until the main refresh to accompany the ebook update.

"Further information is available by clicking large 'Sponsors only' previews in the 'Downloads' 3D area"

I have tried to find this "elusive" Sponsor link on many occasions myself, and have always failed... I just searched the site using Google and found this page:

    cnc4free.org homepage

If I use the Buy Now link here, will I become a sponsor, and have access to all the content?

Hi There .. That's what it says on the tin...

    Hi there,

Many thanks for your interest in the site, your comments and your question...

I am quite surprised this type of question keeps coming up... While I did not and do not want to beat site users over the head with 'Sponsor' requests I do not want this link to be as elusive as seems to be the case.

If you're looking at any of the 'Sponsor Only' download previews you're one-click away. Mousing over images on these pages shows a tool-tip reading "How to Sponser".... I don't see what more I can do while avoiding use of what I would see as a 'Sponsor' nag. The 'begging bowl' approach to site-support bug's the $%!* out of me when I encounter it...

    Re: you're button question...

If you can see the 'Buy Now' button.. then you must be able to see the paragraph of text immediately above it where it says....

"Site funding is now addressed by 'subscription' charge for access to the 'Sponsors' area. ...... Click the 'Buy Now' button below to become a cnc4free.org 'Sponsor'. "

It does exactly what it says on the tin...

Once again many thanks for your interest and feedback re: locating this info. As I've said before the information and resources at the site are my main focus. Obviously I do realise that site-funding must be addressed to ensure longevity. I take your comments and those of others seriously. When I do the major update any questions of support / sponsorship will be resolved once and for all...

    Hope this helps

I am asking if the button on that link works only because I found that page through Google, rather than navigating to it from the rest or your site.

At no point do I ever see a "How to Sponsor" message... Maybe I don't know where the "Sponsor Only" download area is? If I go to the Downloads section, I can download any of the 2D or 3D files I see, and I never get a sponsor message... Am I supposed to see it in that attached screenshot?

    Hi There,

No .. there are no preview images on that page..

From what you say.. I don't think you have made it past the page that shows 30 small thumbnails...

try downloading the example below.. Fourth row down... 1st one in the row... click on the image and hold your mouse on the large image on the page with cutting info displayed as a table...

This is the last word I'll say re: sponsorship at cnc4free.org.. as it is not the topic for this thread...

The generation of funds is not the primary purpose of the site. The distribution of FREE information and resources is the purpose. I DO appreciate sponsors.. more for the fact that they felt motivated to sponsor the site.. either by the content in the sponsor area.. or by having been assisted in some way by the information the site hosts.

I will be instituting changes at the site to deal with this problem permanently. However, I will not nag, prod, poke, spam or in any other way 'push' the issues of sponsorship at cnc4free. I do try and reward support by extra priviliges at the site.. and that's about as far as I'll go as regards 'promotion' of sponsorship ... at the moment.

If you genuinly wish to sponsor the site then I'm more than happy to help you find this information.. However, I will not link to the sponsorship page of cnc4free.org from the zone. I don't think that's appropriate and I doubt forum moderators / admins would find it appropriate either..

The topic for the thread is "Share your 3D carving files, parts or art"... and I for one would prefer it if we kept to that.. otherwise we are just burying links to FREE content in posts most would find of little interest.

    hope this helps

Hmmm, well good luck with support on your site. Been waiting a long time for a reply .........

I have requested twice more and still no answer. I know this is not the place but maybe, just maybe it will get your attention!!

    GG

    Hi there,

I do believe you got my attention when I responded to your email..

As others will confirm.. I have and do reset login info if it's been lost.. usually within 24 hours of them letting me know... However, at this point I couldn't swear to it that this occured in your case. It was MARCH when I sent you that mail... I can't honestly remember... March 2011 mail at the account I use for online transactions has long since been purged. That's the mail you would have had a 'reset' from.. NOT the cnc4free.org mail.

If you've mailed me since March.. then it's to an email that I did state was under spam-attack... it still is... some people think this is a fun thing to do.. It shouldn't really be a surprise to you that.. after my mail in March... you didn't get anything back from email sent to that account...

I'll check your login details.. you WILL get mail from me in the next 24 hours...

    Hope this helps

EDIT: Check your email.. details forwarded in last 15 mins...

    3D Carving File

    Hey Guys;
This is a composite I recently finished using models from vectricclip3d. The wood is poplar and oak from the big box store which is my sole supplier at this time. Opinions will be appreciated. My home designed machine can do the cut but I struggle with the finish.
    Thanks for looking.

OK, clicking on that image has the link you mentioned. I didn't realize it was a bit of a Easter Egg hunt to find a Sponsor Linked one... Thanks for explaining it, now back to our regularly scheduled programming...

How to convert text from CorelDraw to Mach3 (G-code)

    Hi
I am newbie in CNC. I would like to engrave a text or design from Coreldraw and import as G-code in Mach3. I have tried from 2D cutter from Vectric but it is engraving 2 times (repeating). Is there any help or any free software to convert from Coreldraw to G-code ?
    Thanks.

    Hi...

If you want to cut a single area/path out between the lines you need to cut a 'pocket' rather than a 'profile' which will be giving you the double lines.

Either that or use a single line font and cut a profile 'on' the lines.

    Welcome to cnczone.

    Cheers, Chris H.

    Hi Khalid...

you are too kind... also.. I cannot take credit for the design.. I found the lineart on the internet and 'saw' this 3D version of it when I looked at it ...

The heightmap was very easy to make in inkscape..

Please use it if you can and enjoy it..

Also good to see links to other FREE 3D content appearing in the thread..
