    Hi SA - Since you are replacing your 8x4 (and the current machine has issues) I'd build another 8x4 or even bigger if you do bigger jobs. I'll look up the ply specs. Peter

    First of all,congratulations on building a successful machine.That it has worked well enough to create a need for an upgrade is a sign of successful use and while you will be best placed to understand what might be required,I do have a suggestion.Your gantry seems to be rugged enough but I would suggest stiffening the end plates all the way down tot he level of the lowest rack.There may not be much flex in 25mm MDF,but there is some and it can be reduced quite simply.I am hoping that my attempt to attach a concept image will convey the idea.
