Can anyone tell me the length of the two steel rectangular tubes are on Tormach's monitor arm? I'm building my own and just want a good idea where to start.

FWIW I also made my own arms. The one on the left, for tooling, has an arm with two sections and 3 pivot points. The pivots on each arm are 12-inches apart with each arm 12.75 long. The one on the right, for monitor and keyboard, has a single pivot and an arm 22-inches long. I'm been reasonably happy with the proportions.

I used 1 1/4" square tubing, 0.075 wall. One piece was 18", the other 12. I also ran off a mounting plate, simple casting job. Can't find the pattern now, but it was about 6x6 with a couple "ears" about 2" high, 1 1/2 wide, all about 1/2 thick (aluminum doorium raw material, OK for structures but machines poorly). That job has held up for 6 years now. PM me if you want exact dimensions or other detail.
