    newbe planing stages needs advice

    want to build a 8' x4' table using 80/20.
    Thats the simple part. questions
    1. rails and slides or bearings and plates?
    2. ball screws or pitch rails or belt drive?

want to be able to use it for wood, aluminum and be able to eventually add laser, or plasma.

any help would be greatly welcome.

I have a sherline cnc mill/lathe to help with some construction.

The questions are really dependent on how much $ your willing to spend. The most cost effective route is rack and pinion drive.
