    Drawing Parallel Objects

Have a hard time locating objects where I want them in MCx5

Say I draw a 10"x 10" square with its bottom left corner in origin and I want to make another similar square which is 10" apart (+X10) so both squares are parallel and at the same height from origin

I'm sure there must be an easy way but how?

One of many many many ways to do it is to select the DRAW POINT, put a point on the origin, then Window select the point and click transform. Then type 10 into the X dialog box. Now you have temp origin at 10" from the original you can use to start your box.

Another way is to draw your new object off in space out of the way. When you are done with its features select it, select the dynamic transform, select your corner, hole or whatever you want to be a known distance from any point, then click the green OK and drag it to the reference point and click okay. Its now purple.... Click the quick mask purple on the side bar to select it, click transform, type in your offset into the dialog box. That's how I position almost everything. Its quick, easy and accurate.

If you use the temp origin technique it's a good idea to change the point style, color or level to make it easier to remove random points later

Thank you Brian, I will try it tonight to see if I can make it

Sounds complicated but perhaps after I practice a bit it may not be
