    Autodesk Inventor and Mechanical Questions

    Has anybody had problems with dxf in sheetcam, can't seem to get a simple part to even show up.

    Just bought SheetCam, so haven't used it much. But, what dxf version are you exporting? Maybe try something "older", i.e. a smaller version number.

    I use Sheet Cam for all our mill programing, try saving your drawing in
    2000dxf format. Then in sheetcam you go to file and then open drawing, it should show up.

    This works for Inventor
    Create your part in a sheetmetal .ipt>
    Finish the sketch and face the part>
    Convert to a Flat Pattern>
    Right click on the flat pattern icon in the browser menu>
    Go to Save copy as and save it as a .dxf>
    The .dxf file can then be opened into SheetCAM.
