How to remove a DC servo motor cap?

Had some positioning issues on the X-axis today and want to check to make sure the resolver mounts are tight. How do you remove the motor cap? I've removed the 3 screws that appear to hold it in position but it's stuck. I've tapped it pretty hard with a hammer and screw driver but it's not budging and I don't want to force it without knowing for sure how it's supposed to come off.

    Hi !

The same happened with our servo. it has some resolver problem (inside one). So we had to remove the cover, but it took some minutes. Maybe you can warm it up with some hair drier (hot air blower).
There's a rubber seal which can bond to the metal parts quite storngly. Or use cont. force to take em apart. So dont use the hammering game. Apply some force cont'ly.

Thanks. I'll try that and avoid the hammer

On reflection I had a dust collection hose sitting right over the X axis motor, there could have been some static build up causing the issue. I've removed it and we'll see what happens.
