I just bought a used DIY CNC machine last week and the computer that runs it has Mach3 and Aspire 2.5. Playing around with designing a couple of projects yssterday and was going to save the toolpaths, but now I'm confused. On my other machine, which runs Artcam, I save the toolpath as a .tap file. But Aspire list the Mach3 toolpath as a .txt file.
So my question......when saving toolpaths from Aspire to be run on a Mach3 machine, how should I save it.

( txt ) is good for almost any control, & you can edit it in a lot of programs, like MS Word, Notepad Etc

You can take any/most G-code Programs, into the likes of MS Word & save it as a txt file
which is good for sending to someone else to run, or to post on here

Thanks. I'm very familiar with txt files, but have never tried to load one in Mach. I'll give it a go.

Almost all g-code files are text files. The only difference is the name of the extension.
.tap, .nc, .cnc, .txt etc. are all exactly the same. Just a different extension on the filename.
