    my laser engraver lose(miss) 1 step every 5cm in Y axis

    hello to all here
    i have one problem with one chinese laser engraver 25watt /30x40 working area. The machine working well in generall but when i m engraving something then every 5cm about always it lose (miss) 1 step in Y - axis. The result of that is to leave one very thin unegravable line in this line of Y - axis. So if someone has any idea what is the problem for this please to writte me a suggestion

    Hi maybe is too late for this reply

    Try checking the rack, screw or belt to see if any crack is on there maybe is a little bump that produces such anomaly.

    'Could also try checking the pulleys on the belts (if that's what is used) to see if the grub screws holding them on are loose.

    Maybe one pulley has a tiny amount of play, and when the direction reverses it goes back to the correct spot - giving the effect you describe.
