I have an old SMW System 50 and RT-3J Indexer set up. We just got this set up and running after it's been sitting for the last decade or more. Everything works just fine, my issue is going to be program capacity of the System 50 Controller. I have the manual and it does not mention being able to send the controller commands via RS-232, but was told by an SMW tech that this may be possible. I've done it with other indexers but they were much newer.

My other option is to replace the controller with an updated one. A new one from SMW (ATS) is around $3800 as I understand. I'm thinking I can build one for much less and it will be exactly what I need. The only thing I'm lacking is the servo information (the label is completely obliterated and not legible). I do know that it is a Cleveland Machine Controls (CMC) servo, but that is all. If anybody has a similar system and could post the servo specs that would be fantastic. I'm going to try SMW on the phone again today, but haven't had any luck thus far. I'd rather not replace the servo if I don't have to.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
