    Exactly! Applying the vinyl first on the PVC before routing out the letters saved me so much time.
    This is really good info for future CNC routing or engraving projects.

    But I'm also guessing it will depend on how well the vinyl sticks on to the materials surface, considering that the PVC is smooth and flat.

    I tried this once with some scrap sign vinyl on mdf but it tore. I think it was because the engraving was to intricate or the v bit was dull.

    What kind of vinyl did you use.? I want to try this again.

    Here is a link to the type of vinyl we had laying around, I got the specs from the blue vinyl I used. I think the other colors were the same type.
    ORACAL 651 Intermediate Cal Vinyl 24" x 10 Yard Roll
