Yeah after chatting with the LinuxCNC gurus I get the "why" part of it being that way but it is still lousy. That was my prime motivator to switch to TTS as soon as I could. They have no good way to handle manual tool changes without known heights.
CNC: Making incorrect parts and breaking stuff, faster and with greater precision.
