There are a number of free gear generators out there easy to use .
Yep absolutely (like Gear Generator), I couldn't find one that generated the curved fillets though.
Still I know what you are saying - why re-invent the wheel? I guess the about box in geargenerator.com says it all. I'm building something fusion 360 and needed it.
Interestingly enough, I read one article at suggested curved fillets make the gear stronger because the corner created a stress point.
I don't know what that is meant to mesh with, but the teeth look a bit too big & fat to me.
Have you tried printing that gear and its mate out on paper, cutting them out, and testing the mesh?

Hi Roger, just printed them out and ran them off a cordless drill at 1500 rpm. They work ok. The modulus is really high - 9mm.
The root circle is too small, I'll need to work on that.

Yeah it looks great.
The undercut has been fixed by profiling the undercut.
I want to prototype my design with some thin laser cut gears and add the cross for supporting lego, so I created a 2D laser cut version (the difference is that it adds a bit for the laser cut kerf).
It is sure an interesting learning exercise. They make great spinning tops.
It has been an interesting exercise in getting a script published in Autodesk. They (rightly) want a professional icon and a professional name. It is really interesting how we are going from expensive professional tools to the pricing model of Fusion 360. Brave new world.
Rather a curious profile.
Have you tried to do an FEA on the teeth? (Can Fusion do this?)

If FEA means finite element analysis, hmmm.
Fusion 360 seems to have support for simulation etc, but I have never looked into it.
What I am doing just has an end goal of creating gears out of pine (Douglas Fir) for an low power electronics project.

My progress so far (3d printed, cnc routed and laser cut). The printed and cnc is using the undercut profile for the fillet (plus clearance), the laser one is not. I actually made a holder for the cnc version so I can cut one side, turn it over and cut the other. Challenge to get it out though.
