Problem using Fusion 360 CAM with User Parameters

I have been experiencing problems related to this issue for some time, and the latest update seems to have made it worse.

Yesterday, I was so frustrated with it that I spent most of the day documenting it: I created a simple F360 project that demonstrates the problem, made a screencast showing the exact clicks & keystrokes to recreate it, then made a detailed post to the Fusion 360 CAM forum.
You can see it here: (the post includes both the screencast & a link to download the F360 project that I created)

    https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/compu...6471421#M15095

In case the link doesn't work, it's titled

"Problem using User Parameters with CAM/2D Contour"

The response so far: zero. Nadda. nothing. Not a single acknowledgement that the post is even out there. This in itself is weird. I've never seen a post so totally ignored on that forum. Since my post, numerous others have appeared with pretty much immediate responses. So, I'm surprised & confused by that, especially after all the effort that I put into analyzing & documenting the problem.

That aside, my real issue is that this bug costs me an enormous amount of time and frustration every time I use F360.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Thoughts, feedback, comments?

    Thanks,

I just replied to your thread over on the Fusion forum. Sometimes you just have to be patient as it can take a day or so for someone to respond.

But this is definitely a bug. Once support see it, it should get logged as a defect.

Re: Problem using Fusion 360 CAM with User Parameters

So it's been a full week since I posted in the F360 CAM forum about this bug, and still not even a defect acknowledgement from Autodesk.
FWIW, there is another post this morning from someone who describes a problem which appears to be related to the one that I documented:
user parameters are not updating in CAM Setups when using 'from solid' stock - Autodesk Community
In a nutshell, it seems like changes made to User Parameters, which result in reconfiguration (resizing, etc) of the model, are causing all sorts of problems on the CAM side. More specifically, it appears that the changes made are not correctly (or not at all) carried forward to CAM, which results in all sorts of confusion when toolpaths, etc are regenerated.
FWIW, both issues were reported by users running F360 on a Mac.

support depends on if you have a paid subscription or not, if you have a subscription what you paid for it should be done in around 4 hours, if not you have to weight.

I will go have a look there are a couple of ways it can fail when you do changes, it all depends on how you did the model.

I reply on the fusion forum

Re: Problem using Fusion 360 CAM with User Parameters

Here’s a great tip on how to accelerate your designs with user parameters and patterns in Fusion 360. Don’t know how many holes you want around the perimeter of your form? Does it depend on the depth of each hole? Patterns and user parameters will soon be your new best friends.

User parameters allow you to tie various features together and create a “smarter” design. Let’s say you always want a hole in your cylinder that is 25% of the outer diameter and extends 50% into the depth – user parameters allow you to define these rules. Once the rules are in place, all you have to do is change your cylinder’s features, and everything else will update!
