BOBCAD FOR RAISED PANEL MDF DOORS OR RECESSED

Is anyone using Bobcad for raised panel mdf doors on a cnc router
we want to say for example out of 3/4" stock do a recessed panel so we machine out everything at a depth of 1/2" but a 2" rail around the out side
on the outside of the recessed and inside of the 2" we want to use a 45 degree chamfer bit . to profile the edge
how do we write or draw the program so at the corners the bit retracts up and out on a 45 degree angle to give this the sharp corner look
some programs have what the call door creator . we called bobcad support and the tech managed to do this but it was a lengthy process and was a bit of guess work where to draw another off sett so the tool path was correct
there has to be a better more efficient way .
    I am using V 30

    Hi Irv

Yes, there is a much easier way to do what you are asking, I do it regularly in Aluminium and Brass for Mold inserts, it is called "V Carve" and you can have a look see if it is in the V30 package you purchased.

Here is an image from my V28 showing where to find that strategy

If it isn`t there then you may just have the Standard V30 and you may need to purchase it as an extra, it is a nice little strategy to have at hand and if you are going to be doing a lot of this type of work then probably worth asking BC rep what deal he can do for you

the file you posted Aldepola we could not open
so we will just have to get educated how to use
I am a rookie on drawing I can draw strait lines angled lines etc curves , the things I require for myself but I never got any further cause I had no need

    Hi Irv

Always something nice and new to learn

Anyway, try opening the attached file, it was done in V28 so should open fine in your V30. Give it a go, you will have to play with tool sizes/shapes and step over values to get exactly what you want
I have just done a simple pocket something like you describe but without the border, see the image below, bit short on time, sorry

we just upgraded to V30 from V21 little over a month ago so just using V30 from V21 is quite a change

so is it possible to do the outside chamfer in one pass and just up at each corner ? so it could be done in less time
the middle recessed can be done with a surfacing cutter and than corner clean up wit a .25" tool
and the very last do a chamfer cut and with wood the tool can do that all in one pass and can handle that
the tool path you have there is a lot of paths for something like wood

If you are using a bigger cutter and/or I would probally add another tool path that would amount to a triangle pocket in each corner with a 1/8 EM,for better clean-up instead of using the V-Tool

But just to give you the jest, look at the file
