Based on the specs, it would appear to be based on the same Allegro chip that the Xylotex is.

doesnt appear to have the heatsinks on this one? or mabe has some chip heatsinks inline... The curretn and max volts seem to be same, as well as microstepping etc...
I bought 3 of the sop1's on impulse....Too boring imho.....uneventful wiring and power up...worked straight away without any issues. Total cost £60 and used 3 0.65A 4.7V 4 wire Bipolar steppers from a skip (dumpster) one thing to watch for is loose solder on the PCB (unclean...rings bell) I took a picture at 10x with my microscope and it's an Allegro A3977SLPT rated at 2.5A.....how do they do it in something so small  Personally I'd never have all my axis on one card (unless it was the cheap 2 axis and I had 2 of em for my lathe ) one blows it's all fubar! I'll post back if I manage to break em

I hope nothing.....I bought one to replace my Xylotex board.....It went out on me and I only bought it in May....the Z went crazy....
Maybee this is a good board for us in Europe? Since we can`t order from Xylotex beacuse their boards not are RoHS complaint...
it can only handle only up to 30v 2.5a
they are not ROHS either
I have the Xylotex and 4 - 434oz 2.8a motors I run its vref at 3.5 and after emailing and reading EVERYTHING on the Zylotex site all papers etc etc I found that the xylotex motors both the 269 and the 425 are 2.8amp and run fine on the 3 and 4 axis boards! I ran my other motors on it also no problem.
SO the assumption (watch out for assumptions) is that this board should have no problem at the 2.5a rating and run those 269oz motors.
P.S. Xylotex says to run their board at 30v and not to exceed soooo that leads me to believe that tolerances are same and marketing is different.

Ok well I live in the USA I am fairly new to diy cnc. I bought a 3 axis board and have a cnc router with 118 oz bi-polar steppers. I need a power supply. Is the xylotex power supply and fan for $50 the best buy? I also have 3 wire limit switches installed on each axis how do I wire them up?
You may want to look at our low cost Mini-IO series of powered/isolated breakouts. They a direct Xylotex expansion connector and it has all kinds of options including a dandy case that holds all of the MINI-IO option cards and a 3 or 4 axis Xylotex card. A special mounting plate with two wired fans is another piece that makes the single case possible. We also have a matching 20 function hand pendant that plugs into the port2 expansion card.
I have my table top engraver/router running with a 3 axis unit with all the bells and whistles (Relay Card, Pendant, Single case, remote power supply)
Check http://www.candcnc.com Click on the top picture of the 4 axis Dual Port Driver unit and it will take you to the page with the finished units and some options.
Pieces to build your own version of the same thing are at http://www.candcnc.com/Mini-IOProductsChart.htm
Hi, I am very interested in the combo box. I can see what the pendant is use for, but what is the purpose of the Mini-IO box. Sorry I am newbie and in the process of setting up a cnc mill. I am particularly interested in the last combo set, i.e. Mini-IO 2 Port Super Combo. at USD350. How is this connected to the xylotex drive controller? Is the 4 axis driver card fitted inside the mini-io case? Or this mini-io box connected via a connector to the xylotex controller box? Thanks.
Alex
Hi, is this
XDPSC-2-4 Dual Port Super Combo with XYLOTEX 4 Axis bipolar stepper driver. Includes 24V 5A PSU and Remote Relay (RR2) card w/25 ft DB9 cable AND 20 Function pendant with rotary handwheel (USD575)
all I need to run my cnc mill? What spec stepper motor do I get? 425oz.in will do?
Thanks.
