Question Advice needed for spindle, milling brass

    Hi all,

I hadn't quite realized how big the JGRO is until I put together the bed and base. It seems like overkill now for my application: I'm planning to use it to mill small pieces of brass. Specifically, taking 1/4"x1/4" or 1/8"x1/8" bar stock and milling using a 1/16" end mill.

    What spindle would you recommend?

    Thanks!

    1. Given the small size of your workpieces and the end mill, a high-speed precision spindle would be ideal. These spindles offer high RPMs which are suitable for small tools.
2.If your work involves prolonged or heavy-duty milling, a water-cooled spindle might be more suitable due to its superior cooling capabilities, maintaining stability under high loads.
