Hi folks,

I'm trying to learn more Okuma features and have read and heard talk about using the torque limit/skip function during a M-tool tap cycle.
I've been told it's possible to monitor spindle torque and stop and reverse the spindle/tap if a limit is reached.
My programming manual only seems to discuss this feature during part transfer.

Am I making things up here, or just missing the correct information?

UPDATE:

Looks like it's not available on the OSP-P200L machine. There is a distinct page for tap torque monitoring on our LB3000 EXII with the OSP-P300L NC.

hello retract on load is possible, but i am not sure if it works on tapping; i will do some tests, and be back to you

Yeah, i found the same page on our LB3000 with the OSP-P300L control, but that parameter page is not present on the LT-200 with OSP-P200L control. Perhaps an option we do not have or not available on the P200L.

hello nyeoJSF i just solved for M-spindle Torque Limit, with real tests on lathe for tapping g-codes; retract occured on overload, so all fine here

Maybe M978 command solves this problem.

Thanks all for the feedback. It seems none of these options are available or included on the OSP-200L machine I run. Load monitor will have to suffice.
