    Re: Reviving old Torchmate

Have you plugged things in and see if it works ?

You have a control that was made for Torchmate by Flashcut. Wonderful control software. Depending on your software version, you may need to run it on an older PC with Win XP or Win7. It looks like you have a USB control, so you could try it on win10-11... I never have. I just have some older dedicated XP and Win7 boxes that keep chugging away as dedicated controllers.

I still use Flashcut on more than one machine. Frankly, If you have version 4, I have yet to see anything spectacular in any of the newer controls out there. 3 Isn't bad either, but 4 added 99% of what anyone needs. Their version 5 and up went full tilt amazing with 2D/3D Cad, Cam, and Controller all in one. Awesome software, but I couldn't even afford it.

It's true you will not get any support from either company.... Flashcut "private labeled" it for Torchmate and Torchmate was to undertake any and all warranty and support for their sales.

Without plugging it in and testing it, I sure as heck wouldn't just start retrofitting it. Most people in this forum were never familiar with Flashcut because it costed a whole lot more than that $150 Mach option. Make it run, use it as is. If it runs there is nothing to gain by changing it out.

Best thing you can do is bury yourself in Torchmate or Flashcut documentation. I have not read Torchmates side, but, I know Flashcuts was well written and clear.
