yeah i did that but i run the software then go to mode then machine to bring up all the axis which is just 2 and then go to file and load my g-code its all ready to go so when i hit run/start/go ect. ect. nothing happens and it usually starts cutting but if i hit jog on one of the axis everything turns gray and you can't click on none of the axis or the start buttons in the program and i use to be able to do that before i stop using it but now it won't let me and I haven't change nothing in the software. i did delete it and reinstalled it went through and did the setup like me and Fred did so i know that's all correct dang thing got me confused as hell.

check with a multimeter all the input pins if it is shorted to ground, thats why there is a rc network in there to filter noise on input pins. that is how I found out it was the rc network falt. it would upload new firmware but locked up after that. you can order a new rc network from digikey or somewhere else. deskcnc has changed the rc network on newer boards by smaller ones. so far no problems.

What was the problem, and how did you fix it? Resolutions in threads like this can be helpful when someone else has the same issue.

Re: DeskCNC and Sherline mini Lathe

well it was a really stupid thing, ok i use deskcnc software that came with my lathe setup, in the software there is a setup
for the lathe and mill and i have to reenter the numbers for the x and z axes and the choose the com port, Well Fred (RIP)
help me setup everything and it worked great, but after it set awhile not using it i upgraded the software and reentered the
setup, and thats where i had the problem. could not figure it out, until the other night when it snapped what Fred told me what i had to do
when you bring up the machine in the software and then open one of your g-codes you hit go and it suppose to run or you hit x or z to jog
suppose to move wouldn't do it. what i have o do is there is two buttons in the software thats pause and em stop i had to click on both
buttons to open the em stop and take it of pause then everything worked great so i am back up and running so be sure you guys
write down everything so i wrote that down in my notes so want have that problem again
