Can you post the Vcarve .crv file for this sign. You'll probably have to zip it first though as its to large to post otherwise.

Would the g-code do better? If so, what dimensions do you need? (height, width and depth)

I've posted the dxf in post #3108, with Vcarve in your possession you can size it and adjust the depth of cut to suite yourself prolly better than I can.

Anything else I can do just whistle!

    Unhappy Inkscape.

    Hi Rando,

I have been using inkscape for a couple years now. Once converted into a .dxf I use cambam to clean up and/or redraw the file for cutting. If I don't redraw everything using continuous polylines I get lots of little line segments that take forever to actually cut on the machine.

Between inkscape and Cambam I can do just about everything I need to. Except for Circles, Arcs, and Ovals due to one problem or another.

I used Wintopo for a while but I didn't like it as well as inkscape/cambam combined...

Hmmmmmmmm...... I wonder if Switchers dxfr12 conersion would help CamBam/Kcam with arcs, ovals, and circles. Hmmm... Might have to give it a try. I think my big problem is Cambam to Kcam when cutting circles. Oh well nothing I do is perfect.

Happy Holidays to you and yours.

Hey me neither... I didn't intend any offense there.

It's just that the jagged line segs in that file looked alot like my wintopo files.

Switchers r12 will still not do circles, or arcs, but it produces pretty good files(yes, lots of segments, but not near as bad as others I've used.) You should give it a shot. It really produces the cleanest image conversions I've ever seen.

Your whoaboy file is very clean!!! (depending on ones tastes I guess )

Happy Holidays to yours as well!!!

    I might try it

    Hi Rando,

I didn't take it that way.

I appreciate the suggestion and welcome any and all suggestions that will help me make better .dxf files.

I use CamBam for everything and I'll bet the jagged lie segments are the results of my re-drawng the image but on the dog they are meant as fur. LOL.

I'm no expert when it comes to Cad or Cambam, just able to get it to do what I need it to. I think I will try Switchers program. I have been thinking about it for a while and you just convinced me to give it a whack.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

    Happy Holidays.

BTW Thanks to the original artist

On my previous WHOA post the girl was posted previously by somone here on cnc zone. I think they did a nice job on it, all I did was add text and redraw it for cutting.

Thanks to the person who created it. It was one of th efirst thing I cut when I first made my CNC machine....

I have a cutout in my pickup. I like being a redneck a couple times a year.
