    Center drill

    Thanks nervis1.

    Do you mean the same center drill I would use on my lathe or something else?

    Yep, the same stuff. Just make sure you locate that hole where you want it. What machine are you using, drill press? Mill?

    If a mill then you can edge find the center of the bar. Remember that round stock (drill rod is probably right on) is rarely exact in size, measure it first and do the edge finding with that measurement.
