Those look okay. They look like the same lead I have on my mill. 10mm. Not the best for a Z axis really. It will mean you need stronger motors I think or use belt drives. Great for speed though which unfortunately isn't something you really have to have on such a small machine. I keep mine down below 300 IPM although it's capable of higher. It rarely actually has time to hit such speeds in rapids anyway. Just not enough machine travel.
I would actually get that one though. The price seems right to me.

Hey guys will this treadmill motor work for my mill 2.6 horse 130V DC McMillan Treadmill Motor Generator? http://cgi.ebay.com/130V-DC-McMillan...item2a01a42e83
Using 1 1/4 thick by 3" tall HRS milled after welding.
Are you converting the XY table to ballscrews? looking forward to seeing what you do with it. I've got a similar table I'm working on right now (slowly), adding ballscrews and servos from ebay.
Eventually yes but its going to be just a manual mill for awhile.
Hey Joezx10r, what's the underside of that t-slot table look like?
Ok so I finally have a motor its a 2 horse from a proform treadmill and I have a question about the fly wheel, its big and heavy is it better to use it when putting it on a mill or toss it in the junk pile?
Holy smokes ,
Wow great job dude .
I would love to start a project like this. Take more pics when ya can.
What do you plan to use for a spindle head?
Is that a head to a X2?
yup
Having no luck finding a motor control and power supply for the treadmill motor.![]()
Wouldn't this work?
