With good homing switches, you should be able to home to much better than .1mm.

Now if the part has moved, and you can't get it back to where it was, the best way would be to use the probing to reset your X and Y zeros. But, that may depend on what's left of the part??

    Thanks,
Actually this is what i ment. The part's zero is gone actually because is machined right away. I have to study actually the homing precision. This would be the first part of my problem. The second is the stock. Probably i should take 3 probing spots(which are not machined away): 2 along x and one y and go there with the initial tool(probe) and fix the stock. So i know the theory but i don't know how to do it.Should i switch back and forth between offsets? Is there a tutorial somewhere about it ? My other problem is when in jog mod i type X100 the machine goes very slow as it would be in step mode. I can't find where to set it back ( It appeared after the screen/or 020 mach installation)
    Thanks for the help

    Cheers

Do you mean MDI mode? IF You type X100 in MDI mode, it will move at the current feedrate.

If you're talking about jogging, look on the Jog tab. Also, make sure you set up your jogging increments and % on the Settings tab.

You can also type G0 X100 and it will go at the maximum velocity.

    Local System Rotated

    Sorry, another question.
Can I also reach the "Local System Rotation" feature of Mach3?

Thanks again for the quick reply.
Than I think it is my turn with MachScreen!

I just installed the 2010 set, and tried to run a part. As soon as I hit cycle start Mach locked up. I have to End Task it to get it to close, and then windows xp would not even shutdown. I have to forcefully turn it off. I have tried this 3 times now and same results. It was working perfect before the install. Any suggestions? I did try a reinstall, and copy of my backup XML and it did not help any.

    Mach3

    Hi,

I am a user just like you. I originally had a few issues with the 2010 Screen Set and Gerry advised me to install Version R3.042.040 of Mach3.

He told me that certain versions of Mach3 would cause issues with the 2010 Screen Set due to a bug in that particular version of Mach3.

After I installed the version listed above it has worked flawlessly for me.

I am sure that Gerry will advise you of other possibilities to fix your situation.

I believe you will really like the 2010 Screen Set.

Hope this was of some help.

Do you mean "As soon as you hit cycle start after a toolchange" ?

If so, this is a Mach3 bug in the 3.43. versions prior to 3.43.028, where it was fixed.

If it's not after a toolchange, then it's the first I've heard of this.

    What version of Mach3?

    Sorry Ger21...
I assumed, we all know where assumptions get us, that the latest lockdown release was newer than the version you stated had issues.

So I am running Mach3 R3.043.022, so I bet I can fix that easy enough when I get home. I will download Mach3 R3.043.056 if that is known to work.

    Again sorry about that.

No problem. Unfortunately, while the bug was fixed 9 months ago, the lockdown version hasn't changed in about a year. So, you can either use the latest development version, or go back to 3.42.020 or 3.42.040. Some people can't go back due to plugins or other bugs in those versions.

My recommendation is to find a version that works, and stick with it as long as you can.

    Dear Gerry,
I have received your latest version of Screen set and want to implement it on my Metallic CNC Milling Machine. As this is a new experience for me to add Auto Zero setting on Metallic machine , can you help me how this can be implemented on metallic machine.

Try using isolated touch plates, like copper clad PCB material.

    Xbox 360

    Hi,

I am a satisfied user of Gerry's 2010 Screen Set. I use the Xbox 360 Plug in with his screen set and I have not had any issues.

The Semi Automatic Tool Changer is on of the GREAT features of Gerry's 2010 Screen Set.

An incrediable buy with plenty of features. Go For It!

Plugins shouldn't really care what screenset you're using, as most have their own configuration pages independent of the screenset.
Unless a particular piece of hardware requires it's own custom screen, it should usually work with any Mach screen.
