    Gerry,
Love your screen set. I have something odd happening. If I start up Mach, then enter in amy G code command, then switch over to the probing screen, then switch back to the main screen again, mach crashes without error code; it just goes away. Have you ever seen this happen?

It doesn't crash here, on XP with the latest development version (or any other version I've tried)

What version of Mach3 and what OS are you using?
Are you using the parallel port?

I have one other user with a similar issue. His crashes when he clicks the probe wizard button, but it doesn't crash if he opens it from the Select Wizard window.
He's using the latest development version, on Window7 x64 with an ESS.

The Mach developer is looking into it.

    Vectric Post

Here's a post I use with Aspire and V-Carve Pro with the 2010 Screenset.
It eliminates the initial toolchange, and G43 length offsets.
It also moves to the Park position at the end of the file.

Thank you for the modified post processor Ger. That will help tremendously since I have a habit of forgetting to remove that darn first M06.

Go to the Windows Start menu, and find V-Carve Pro, and there should be a User Data folder Link. In that folder, there's a Posts folder. Put it in there.

    Mach 4?

Hi Gerry, I love and use your screen set daily.

Was wondering: Since the CNC workshop was in your neck of the woods, did you go?

If so, I heard that they talked about an impending (believe it when I see it) Mach 4. So,

Do you have any ideas about how your screen set will fit into this new version? Is it too early to tell?

I would have, had I not been on the beach in San Diego on Friday.

I don't believe that any Mach3 screenset's will work with Mach4 when it's released. They eventually may, but most likely only stock functions will work, as Mach4 is using a new scripting engine (Lua).

Mach4 is a total re-write, and will not be a free upgrade.
It should allow for much better screens, with many more functions. I'll definitely be looking into making a screen or two for it.

If you want the auto calibrate function, it's not in there. I don't use it, and my theory is that valuable screen real estate shouldn't be wasted for a function you use only once, when setting up your machine.
You can simply load the 1024.set screenset, calibrate, and then load the 2010 Screenset.
Or just do the math and enter the steps/unit in motor tuning?

I'm curious. Is this a fresh install of Mach3? I would expect most people getting my screen would already have a working copy of Mach3, which would normally mean the machine is already running, and the auto calibrate function shouldn't be needed anyway?

No problem. That was my backup plan anyway but nice to have it confirmed.

Yes its both a new machine and a fresh mach3 install.

    Hi Gerry,

On the "CNC for Woodworker" website, there is a red note about some problems with Mach3 version 3.043 ...

And the only version I found is the 3.043 ... Sure, I can use the development release, but I'm not sure about that ...

So, do you still have problems with that Mach3 release ??

    Thank you,

    Yves

Yes, you can use the Development version. The lockdown has not been updated in almost 2 years, and still contains the M6 bug.
