I use Gerry's screen set with a touch screen and it works fine. I do have small hands though.
I haven't had a chance to try yet also. Been busy upgrading my computer to run Marh3 and now waiting on my Spoilboard surface cutter. I'm extremely anxious to try out the macro Gerry generously supplied. What I'm hoping to accomplish is eliminating my movable plate and just use fixed plate for table zero and use the material offset for whatever thickness material I'm cutting.
Just want to clarify something with that macro. It still uses the plate thickness from the toolchange tab, so if the plate is flush with the spoilboard, enter 0 for the plate thickness.

Hey Gerry,
First of all thanks for the guidance on feeds and speeds over at the Joe's CNC forum.
I did have a question about your 2010 Screenset that I'm using. It's great, and the semi automatic toolchanger is awesome! But I'm having some issues with the park command at the end of programs. When the M883 macro gets called, the Z-axis moves upward until it hits the limit switch. I have the park settings configured to -0.5 on the Z-axis, so I'm not sure why it's not acting like it should.
Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated!

Do you have the Machine Coordinates box checked?
Do you have Use Safe Z checked?
What version of Mach3?

I do have Machine Coordinates checked, as that seems like it would be the right setting to use. I want the Z-axis to move just under the top of its travel.
I have Use Safe Z checked as well, as I believe that causes the Z-axis to retract before doing any X or Y axis moves to the Park Position.
My machine is running Mach3 3.043.062, which is the version recommended by Warp9 for their Ethernet SmoothStepper that I am also using.
What do your Safe Z settings look like? You probably need to change Safe Z to use Machine Coordinates.

I don't have my machine in front of me, but I'll have a look at it as soon as I get a chance. I'm pretty sure I have it set to machine coordinates, but from looking at screenshots from Mach3 I'm wondering if I have SafeZ set to a positive value instead of negative. That would explain why it's hitting the limit switch.
That's what I think is happening.

Gerry,
Went to win 7 32 bit, everything seems to work with the screen set. EXCEPT... the edit button. I used to be able to hit that and it would bring up the gcode in a text editor. now it doesn't do anything. Was trying to find a setting to set what editor to use thinking maybe that was it. Couldn't find a setting and couldn't find a macro that is used by that button.

In General Config, do you have a path to an editor configured?

Hi Guys
First time poster in this thread so please be gentle....
I am having trouble getting reliable probing results from my mach3 2010 screenset when using the center finder probe with my makers guide triple edge finder.
It works perfect every time when setting Z zero but its hit and miss with the center finder from the probing page.
It will start the procedure just fine until it touches the first edge then it pauses and then all three axis move at the same time in a jerky motion. It often find the first edge pauses and then starts moving in the same direction in a jerky motion. i have to be careful when testing as it could easily lead to damage.
Sometimes it finds two sides of the circle but then goes nuts. Very occasionally it will work just fine, sadly not often enough to use the feature.
The probe is being sensed just fine or so it seems as the indicator light shows up reliably when the edge finder is touched against the bit.
I have added the small capacitor across the probe leads on the breakout board and that didn't help so i added a second one in parallel with no luck.
The capacitors i used were 0.01uF 50V DIP Low Voltage Ceramic Disc Capacitors
I'm using an old PC running XP and Mach 3 Version R3.043.066
I am using a clean bit without any burnt material on it and the software seems to reliably sense the probe as the green indicator lights up.
Any suggestions guys?
Thanks in advance
Ben
The first thing I would try is changing to version 3.043.062, as 3.043.066 is very buggy.
You can get it at the FTPp site:
ftp://anonymous:[email protected]/
I'm assuming that you're using the parallel port?
If version .062 does not help, open Windows Task Manager while probing and monitor the CPU usage, and let me know what it is.

I have downloaded version.062 and will install tonight and report back
oh and yes i am using the native parrallel port

Hi Gerry !!
Laser Crosshair Setup question !
New to this as I just installed some Laser Crosshairs, i've got some questions on this setup !?
When I reed from your manuel ;
"Modify the offset values to match the offset distances (from laser to spindle) on your machine. Then save
the macro.
When the button is pushed, the DRO's will be set to the offset values, which will place the 0,0 position at
the point of the laser crosshair."....That's very straightforward and seems fine to me !
What I'm wondering.....( or is it something I'm not...seeing / understanding !?)....
When i push the Laser Crosshair button, yes the DRO is set to my "offset" values, but....I must "repush" the GO TO Zero button so it can reposition accordingly !...Right !?
My Question....If this is fine ?.....isn't there a way to set / reprogram this so, when I push the Laser Crosshair button....all this is done and ready to go all in one ?!
Hopping this is not another repeated question / solution request.....as I did try the search post before taking time to post this. If there is already post on this, could you either, leed me to those or reply here !
Thanks in advance to help me out !!
Later, Robert
XOffset = 3.43 'X offset from laser crosshair to spindle
