    Re: Mach3 2010 Screen set

    Non standard... for example?
For example, the checkboxes and radio buttons in my 2010 screenset.
Mach3 does not have those types of controls.
They are actually LED's, with transparent buttons placed on top of them. When you click on them, you are clicking on the transparent button, which calls a macro, which toggles the state of the LED. The LED's are actually images of the checkbox, in both the checked and unchecked state.

    Hello Ger,

I have started to experiment with the probing wizard and have a question.

With probe X-Y offset set to a value and auto zero coordinates selected, shouldn't the coordinates go to the probing center (Pocket Center Finding) + or - the probe X-Y offset?

    Thank you for your time.

    Kind regards,

    Rob

Maybe? I'll have to look when I get home tonight.
I recall that there may have been some issues with the Probing Offsets. But I never released an update, as I only had one person ask about them in 6 years.

    Problem solved!

Ger has send me a new macro and everything is fine

I use the circular probing wizard for referencing my machine to a hole in my fixed touch off plate, the X and Y offset is the center of the hole.
After probing, my machine will be zero’d in the exact same mechanical position every time.

    Thanks again Ger:cheers:

    Best regards,

    Rob.

I just made an XY centering probe last week design for that exact purpose if I understand your question correctly I'd be interested in those changes to the macro.

Jerry, would you mind posting them somewhere I could also get to them. I'd be much appreciated.

    Re: Mach3 2010 Screen set

I have just installed the Screenset 2010. I’m trying to setup the Simple Auto Zero.

    I use Metric units.

I have a probe tool with thickness of 19.1mm. I have set in the DRO field Plate Thickness this value: +19.1000

In the DRO field Clearance Plane I have set a value +25.000

When I click the Simple Auto Zero button on top of the screen the tool goes down. It touches the plate and after one second it goes further down. Please see this short movie.
I also get then this error message: “probe ignore activated at call for probe”

    https://youtu.be/cIHL4w_q1Do

It is also totally random, from the 20 times or so I had 3 times the Simple Auto Zero works perfectly. It touches the plate, goes up 1mm, touches the plate again and goes up to the Clearance Plane value +25.000

Sometimes with the second move it was higher than 1mm (7mm or so), than it goes down, touches nothing and goes up to +32.000.

    I don’t trust it.

I had a fully and good working standard Mach3 installation with no problems at all. Until I installed this morning this screenset.

What can or must I do to fix this problem.

    Thanks,

    Ritmeester

    Re: Mach3 2010 Screen set

Ritmeester, Did you ever get your auto zero probing to work properly? I am having the exact same issue. I downloaded and installed the new M909.m1s file into my profile macro folder and restarted Mach3 with 2010 Screenset as I think you were advised to do, but the probe still goes down after initial zero probe. I looked at the probe line with a 200Mhz scope and found less than 20mV noise and no spikes at all. my Mach 3 profile is set up for 6ms (150 units) debounce time. Any help or advice is appreciated!

    paulcc,

In a total 30 to 40 times trying I get some 4 or 5 times a good working probe. The rest is wrong. I did not download the new M909.m1s macro. I didn’t know of this new macro.

Do I need this macro? I have a X6-1500C USB from Omiocnc

    Regards,

I was reading the thread in the wrong order when I assumed the macro was suggested as a fix to our issue. It is not necessary. I am still working on the assumption that the issue is noise, but I don't see any with a 200 mHz scope. Maybe it is high speed transients that my Chinese scope isn't triggering on?

    Re: Mach3 2010 Screen set

I can’t go further with this. I have restored a image back on my computer with the original Mach3. (I always make a Ghost image from my PC when I install something like this) And all works perfect again

I must make production. For this time I must give it up and throw away $27.- . and € 95.- for a 1980x1080 monitor.

    It is as it is.

    Re: Mach3 2010 Screen set

At a guess, I would say the problem is not in the screenset but in your electrical connections. You are most likely getting some noise on the Probe line, and that can and will cause all sorts of horrible problems. Been there plenty of times.

    Cheers

    Re: Mach3 2010 Screen set

    Thanks Roger,

I understand the problems of noise. But before I installed this screenset 2010 I had never problems with noise. I used the standard Mach3 profile with a standard probe script for over one year without any problems.

How is it possible that I have installed this screenset and then I get some noise problems? I don’t get it why. Maybe you can explain it to me.

Other question is off course how can I get rid of this noise problems if they are there.

    Thanks,

    Ritmeester

    Re: Mach3 2010 Screen set

    Hi Rit

In that case I will have to pass you over to Gerry. I have not used his screen set myself for probing.
Noise - I don't know what your interface looks like, but maybe Gerry does. Sorry.
That said, small filter caps are often involved, plus some SW filtering in Mach.

    Cheers

Gerry, if you get an opportunity now that 're back could you take a peek at my question when you get some time?

Find this block of code, and change this line.
'Move around corner for X Probing

    Code "G91"
    Code "G0 X-" & CornerClear + 2*ProbeD
    While IsMoving
    Wend
    Code "G0 Y" & 2*ProbeD + Clearance
    While IsMoving
    Wend
    Code "G90"
Right now it moves 2x the probe diameter.
You can replace "2*ProbeD" with a value, like 1.5.
    Code "G0 Y" & 1.5 + Clearance

There are 4 corner macros, M905-M908.
