I'm planning a servo machine, first one, and need some advice.

Of course, the G320x is the drive I will be using, but I don't know about motors. All my systems have been stepper systems so I have no experience with servos.

The machine will be an inlay machine for pool cues, so it will do most of it's work in hard woods pushing cutters from .125" down to .020". I have a Precise 50k water cooled spindle, so not really much load here, but positioning accuracy is crucial. Tolerances of .001" are a must. Even though there are very light loads, there are lots of small rapid moves where steppers can easily lose position. I know steppers can do this, but I really want the positional repeatability of servos for this machine.

Any recommendations?
