    power for coolant pump....

I have a three phase 1/8 hp .6 amp coolant pump on my new machine and my question is, can I use a 3hp static phase converter to run the small pump? I already have the converter and I am not using it since I got my VFD spindle drive. The pump should only draw what it needs correct? Thanks for any help. Scott

Shouldn't be a problem, maybe a bit of overkill if the P.C. is large capacity.

Thanks Al, I had thought about wiring it in with my T1, T2, and T3 off of my spindle inverter but I didn't want to take any chances. It would have been nice in some aspects such as not needing a coolant contacter but the other down fall would be that some jobs I might not want coolant .

i suggest that you set the max.current of the moter in the invertor.otherwise the motor maybe fire if it overload

I think I am going to just use the static phase converter even tthough it is a bit overkill. I do have a overload circuit that is conneted to the contactor that is set to trip at around .7 amps.

OK,i guess that your overload protective circuit is overheat protective under the contactor of the motor.
that is also a good mothed.
i'm very interesed in the manchine and this en form .but my english is very poor .so i only read posts most time
