    my new sidecar

    just got this home 600 bucks came with drill chuck no key
    but its painted NASA oange really pokes you in the eye
    pealing in spots to
    just collecting cnc servo drive equipment
    bought 4 of them 50 VDC 2100 RPM SERVO MOTOR
    2 have 5/8 shafts?
    2 have 1/2 shafts?
    trouble all ready

    got to get

    The E4 series from USDigital. 250 Cpr encoder
    power supply
    geco 320 drive



    got seperately
    Rotary table and a 6 inch vice 2" boring head
    set of Morris taper #3 collets 3/8 draw bar hole though
    machinje came with a 7/16?
    will have to post pictures
    just collecting now its cold out in the garage

    this is it

    this is a picture of the mill I got
    I picked it up in fort worth Ind and took it to lansing in a
    ranger 230 miles
    the repair shop called and said that my back axel is fixed
    and come on in and lets talk about it I got good news and Bad
    I just had them put new brakes on [:{ but the truck has 125,00
    on it and I was dooing donuts earler
    only look with one eye
    stand is 3 X 3 1/8 thick wall welded 1030 mild steel

    6 inch vice sides are ground square so that vice can be placen on its side
    8 inch rotary chinese imitation Kitts said that if the handel is cranked
    and cranked so that the table is rotated 760 dregees or more
    eventually it will jam? any body hear of that?

    I dont think you would be able to power one of those motors with 3 of them.

    Take a look at the 10a 24v transformer or 2, maybe more from mpja

    Sidecar, do a lot of reading
    Youll have to figure out the power requirements for those motors, how they work along with the drives and everything else, maybe start a thread for your own conversion.

    I suspect those Ametek motors are rated at 50 VDC at a maximum of 10 to 12 amps. So, at a minimum I would find a 48 VDC power supply that will supply 30 to 40 amps. These should be commom Telco power supplies. Or buy yourself a toroid, a bridge rectifier, and some Sprague electrolytics caps 47,000 mfd at 75 VDC from http://www.mouser.com The toroid are available on ebay for about 40 bucks...you'll need one that has two 37 VAC secondaries at 15 amps that you will need to parallel.

    and some cables ca-3934-6ft

    ordered last week end
    timing pulleys and belts L size for X and Y

    getting ready to order the 28 volt 14 amp power supply
    for a 100 bucks

    thay have Alum stock too

    Tested out computer that will be used
    Need to get 1/8 reamer and drill for it and some dowels too
    May start drilling holes in the ends of the dc motors

    Question could the dc motors be used on a wind mill
    to charge battries then if a DC spindle drive is used?
    I would be Plug it in the wall less
    did you here about the guy that converted every thing in his house to
    12 volts and got his electricty from the phone lines !!!!
