How do you add a dimension to the length of a cylinder shaped model?

I tried the diffrent tools and I can't get my over all length to take on the drawing.

Radius and diameter work, along with dimesions between two lines, just can't get the length for a cylinder.. (???)

    Luke,

Maybe you need to extract an edge.

Or post the drawing for someone to look at.

Choose your circle quadrant snap point for the top and bottom circle for dim.

You'll need to change the construction plane to either XZ or YZ to be able to pick points lying in different Zs
First you get good, then you get fast. Then grouchiness sets in.

(Note: The opinions expressed in this post are my own and are not necessarily those of CNCzone and its management)

Can you walk me through that? I've been using this program for all of 20 minutes.

I tried both, and then used the vertical dimension tool. It looks like it let me choose the first entry (bottom) but then I left click on the top and nothing happens...
