    sign making

Our Mistergram Engraver at work just stopped working and they need 2 signs made ASAP. Just some lettering on lamicoid sp?
All I have is my newly build router and Mach3. Is there some way to quickly do this? I have AutoCAD and can probably get any software I need…

    Thanks

I guess I'm at a loss at how to get a dxf or dwg into Mach3 to route.

Here is a link to a demo version of SuperCamXp.
    http://www.super-tech.com/root/grp.a...uperCamXp-Demo

You can import the DXF file and then export the G & M code files. The EXPRTCNC on right sidebar menu will create the G & M code file.

There are surface, altitude and cut depth parameters that set where the code will occur in the Z coordianate.

Course if you had a USB CamPod you would not even need Mach3 and you could work directly with the DXF files and the machine.

SuperCamXp normally comes with the USB CamPod which is a USB to Parallel Port adapter for machine motion control.

    Hope that helps.

I will give them a try tomorrow after work. Before baseball this evening I downloaded "Font 2 DXF and G-Code 3.0" I got home and exported the DEMOVER test that is all the demo version will allow and it worked flawlessly. I had to tweak the Z depth but it cut the lamicoid perfectly.
I might like using this CNC router

It turns out that the software at work (SignLab) will export to G-code. It has 3 different g-code options gc1, gc2 and gc3 I have no idea what the difference or if the files will load into Mach3 and run. I may have to tinker with the code, but it is a start.
If I were to post parts of the three export files would someone let me know which one would be better suited to Mach3?

    Thanks

I do not see a reference to Z in any of the files...
