    stepper drive help

    Hi
can anyone advise (in laymen terms) please.
I have an old matchmaker mill and would like to convert to running from a PC.
the motors are Superior Electric. U.S.A. ,2.1V ,9.2amps, 840 oz ,200 steps per rev. slo-syn class B synchronous stepping 5/8" dia shaft. the machine did run of a Posidata control, but the drive boards give nothing but trouble.
can anyone suggest manufacturers for parts.
    thanks
    Brian

gecko makes a 7amp controller. that might work. it would limit your torque (oz's)

but i saw he is coming out with a new "G204V " version. Sometime. not sure when you plan on buying. but maybe give hem a email or he might check this forum. See if he is going to be uping the amps on it

www.phytron.de Look for SP-Mini. I'm satisfied with it, and impressed with their prompt technical support. It's just the right size for your motor.

Oh! And tell them CNCzone.com sent you!
