    AutoCad to Solidworks

I just started learning Solidworks. I started with the tutorials that came with Solidworks and I got to the convert from AutoCad. It seems like it would be just as quick to start from scratch. I have a lot of old drawings that were done in Anvil and some in Autocad.

What do you guys suggest start from scratch or try to convert?

I'd say if they're fairly simple, start from scratch. You'll get more comfortable and learn as you go. If they're complicated, convert.

I find that 99% of the time for most parts I can re-draw them faster than I could convert them. The added advantage is the usable geometry you have to work with and modify in the future, USABLE constrained sketch's for this type of work is a huge help..

Almost always quicker/easier to start fresh.
