    VFD Selection for a Spindle

Okay, I'm quite confused about a potential spindle motor that I wish to purchase. It is a "C31/40-C-3822-200" motor whose datasheet states a voltage of 380-220.

Can anyone tell me what this might mean? It says it can also be run at 400-230 with a derated current rating. I'm assuming that it means a delta or wye connection, but I want to be 100% sure before I purchase one. I'm getting one of these with double-bearings for 575$CDN, which I consider a good deal!

As for choosing a drive, I see many models that output 230VAC 3PH, which I was hoping that this will be compatible. Can someone please verify my thoughts? Or, perhaps, give me a wakeup call??

    Thanks!!!

I would think it is dual voltage star (wye) the windings are either in series or parallel, if there are 9 leads out of the motor, this probabally the case, you should have no problem obtaining a 200hz output version of VFD.

    Al,

That sounds like a pretty good assumption, thank you for your input. I'm just a bit scared to use my limited student funds to buy something that expensive and not have it work

    Anyone else have any ideas???

Why not use their 'Request Info' link to make sure.

I spoke to the sales staff and they are unsure... I tried to call the US representative, they're no longer available. Then, I tried calling the UK rep., they got bought out. All left are foreign languages

So, I emailed the manufacturer (hopefully someone english there to help out) and then asked the sales rep. that I am buying the spindle from to ask a more experienced rep.
