Gravograph vx serial connection to PC

    Hi All,

I'm helping out a friend who is currently using his Gravograph VX controller to control the gravograph engraver from 1988 with a windows 3.11 PC with a serial connection (25pin to 9 pins on windows 3.11 pc). The data is received on the graphograph controller by DG CAD 1.09 and is working fine. (seems to be a standaard 25pin to 9 converter)

I'm trying to convert this system to windows 7 laptop. However when I connect the serial connector, "a bit" is received by the DG CAD program, so in this case the receiving stops. I have verified this also happens when the laptop is in the windows start mode "Press F8". It seems to be a hardware issue and nothing is seen with a serial port analyser when connecting the cable in windows 7.

Does anyone has the 25 serial pin layout for the gravograph vx controller and/or have other suggestions.

    Thanks

    Xander
